Technique: grain!

Quite a lot of my pictures are very grainy - they have a gritty texture to the image. This is the result of using a fast film (usually Kodak T-Max P3200 in the past, and now Ilford Delta 3200) and using a very active developer (Agfa Rodinal - still on the market after more than 100 years!)

The texture of the photo masks small imperfections in a subject, and allows me to concentrate more on the overall shape, tone and texture of the image. I like this as a way of working, and so do many of my models - what do you reckon?
